The aim of this project is to develop new method for driving electric wheelchair as the traditional method is not friendly for certain disability person. Virtual joystick on a touchscreen device is proposed as alternative method. The virtual joystick is design using Arduino coding. Input from the joystick is calibrated to show pointer on the corresponding coordinate on the touchscreen device. The voltage outputs to dc motor are calculated according to the pointer coordinate. Lastly, a small wheelchair model is built and the virtual joystick functioning is tested.
