During a recent visit to the five boroughs, Indonesian superstar Afgan decided to take a friend's recommendation and try Java, a legendary home for Indonesian cuisine in Park Slope, Brooklyn. From Indonesian staples like beef rendang and chicken sate, to comfort food classics like telor belado (boiled eggs in hot and spicy pepper sauce) and bakso (beef meatball soup), this spot has it all. But will Java live up to Afgan's high expectations when it comes to Indonesian fare? Amir, the manager of the family owned restaurant, slept in the kitchen while their rendang cooked all night—so fingers crossed that Afgan loves it 🤞
