Urijah Faber is a UFC Hall-of-Famer, former WEC featherweight champion, and the man who just couldn’t be UFC champion.
After collecting titles in Gladiator Challenge and King of the Cage, Faber entered the WEC in 2006, defeating Cole Escovedo to become the WEC featherweight champion.
He defended the belt 5 times, including 2 defenses over Dominick Cruz and Jens Pulver, before losing his title to Mike Brown.
After getting 3 more wins and 2 title losses to Mike Brown again and Jose Aldo, the UFC merged with the WEC, and Faber made his UFC bantamweight debut in 2011
Faber defeated Eddie Wineland, which earned him a title shot and rematch to Dominick Cruz.
And despite finishing Cruz in the WEC, Faber lost via unanimous decision.
Then after finishing Brian Bowles, he got another title shot to Renan Barao, and lost another decision.
After a 4-fight win streak Faber got another title shot, but was finished by Renan Barao.
