The first-of-class Littoral Mission Vessel RSS Independence has sailed ahead of the rest to clinch the Best Maritime Security (MARSEC) Unit award. The ship was deployed during the security operations for the Trump-Kim Singapore Summit and the 33rd ASEAN Summit. It was also involved in defending Singapore's sovereignty in the waters off Tuas.
