Anal Fissure is a result of the trauma caused by the passage of hard, long stool (constipation) and repeated episodes of diarrhea. In women, it may follow the delivery (vaginal delivery) of a child. Anal Fissure actually refers to a tear in the anus. The anus is the opening that marks the lower end of the gastrointestinal system of the body — the opening through which stool is passed out of the body.
The main symptoms of anal fissures include pain in the anal region during passing stool and the pain may continue even after passing stool.
