Parliament has been advised that it has no prospect of successfully charging EFF MPs accused of being in contempt of the institution. Legal advisors told the Powers and Privileges Committee, that the rules of a joint sitting, were explicit on this matter. The matter relates to the disruption of this year's State of the Nation Address, where the EFF objected to the presence of Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan in the house.
