A classic, well-known dish in Afghanistan, Kabuli Pulao provides both sweet and savory flavors with it's unique combination of meat, rice, carrots, and raisins.
INGREDIENTS:
4 tbsp oil (for the meat)
2 tbsp oil (for the carrots and raisins)
1/4 cup oil (for the rice)
1 white onion
6 cloves of garlic
4 lb of beef (or lamb)
2.5 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cumin
1 & 1/4 cup shredded carrots
1.5 cups raisins (soaked 30 min+)
4 cups rice (soaked 1 hour+)
2 tbsp sugar
2 tsp rice masala (ground black cumin)
