A patron of Economic Update asks: "Hey Prof, you've mentioned previously that that under different economic systems (slavery, feudalism, capitalism) enterprises can be privately run or run by the state and still be, at their core, the same system. Under an economic system where enterprises are run cooperatively what would a state run enterprise look like? How could an enterprise be subject to central planning, or similar, and still retain workplace democracy, or are those concepts not compatible?"
