What this is:
In 2016 and 2017, the Portal mappack was leaked. Included in this leak was the 2006 version of Portal in its entirety. The Portal Project Beta team used this 2006 mappack to recreate Portal in its 2006 form (though with some improper usage of era accurate assets.) However, included in these vmfs are a number of unused "Visgroups," which are essentially user-defined groups of objects inside a map's source file. On the map "escape_01," I found two unused groups called "Steaming Refuse" and "old pillbox logic," which were both early pieces of the Glados chase sequence. What's interesting is that the Glados fight and chase sequence itself is on its own map, Escape_02, meaning that at some point before the leak, you would have fought Glados on Escape_01 instead. Anyway, I also found that the Glados "brain" was originally to have taken 4 hits instead of 3, but the logic of the 2nd and 3rd hits were packed together for the version of the map we have. I took some time separating them for the 2 hits Glados takes in the new final room. The body using refracting glass was something I added based off of an old screenshot of early glados being a glass cube.
Interesting points of note: The rocket turrets in the new final room were originally referred to as laser turrets and were seated on brush pedestals. This is because early rocket turrets were, well, laser turrets. I don't *think* there's a way of creating something that fires lasers at the player that can go through Portals in Portal 1's engine, so I removed the pedestals and placed the rocket turrets on the ground.

It works in Portal: Project Beta but won't work in regular Portal unless you port all the missing textures, sounds, and recreate the scenes.image with the beta vcds. If you want to do it in final Portal anyway, I can't stop you, but I also won't help you with getting it to work.
