(19 Dec 2013) MIAMI (AP) _ Three people have been killed in a crash about a mile north of the Florida's Turnpike in Miami.
The Miami Herald reports the Florida Highway Patrol said one of the victims in Wednesday's crash was a 5-year-old girl.
Authorities say the driver of a northbound car lost control, crossed the median and crashed head-on into a car traveling southbound on Okeechobee Road.
The southbound vehicle's driver was killed and the 5-year-old girl was airlifted to a local hospital, where she died. The Florida Highway Patrol says the other car burst into flames, killing the driver.
FHP spokesman Joe Sanchez said it wasn't clear if there was a passenger in the burned car. The three victims were not identified.
