South African Football Association president Danny Jordaan says Bafana Bafana's performance at the Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast just fell short of equaling South Africa's proudest moments in football. Bafana Bafana won bronze after finishing third. Their female counterparts, Banyana Banyana, are the reigning African champions. Jordaan says South African football should now ride the wave and maintain these high standards through dedication and extra hard work.
The team received a hero's welcome when they touched down at O.R. Tambo International Airport early this morning.
