Here's a Christmas themed commercial for Nintendo's new Pocket model of their ultra successful Game Boy. This ad shows two different generations squabbling over each other until they find peace due to something in common - the Game Boy Pocket, something every kid wanted at the time including me. This ad also features the newest games available as well.
I'm surprised nobody else had this ad up yet. This ad is my sister's favorite Nintendo related commercial and I myself am glad to find it.

This aired on local Peoria, IL TV in 1997 (not Chicago, but close, and likely aired here too at the time.)
