Hajime No Ippo Portable - Victorious Spirits
Compared to the GBA version the story is much closer to the Manga series.
It takes some time to get used to the unconventional controls but it'shighly rewarding
In the story mode you take control of Makunouchi Ippo inspired by Mike Tysons boxing style to unlock new boxers and costumes
The game is fully in japanese you can finish the story mode despite the language barrier

Hajime no Ippo 2: Victorious Road
A true boxing simulation game with arcade elements and a must have for die hard fans.
It takes patience go through the story mode and to learn the basics of the game.
The story mode "Boxers Raod" features an advanced character creator and various options to prepare your boxer for the next fight: diet and practice/fitness plan, learn new punches, study your opponents watching their fights, do sparring, etc. All your actions have consequences:
If you eat to much unhealthy food you might miss the weigt limit and in case
you practice to hard you might fatigue during the next fight.
Fight Night Round 3
EA did a great job to sway away from arcade like gameplay in the second title closer
to simulation including Flash-KOs.The intuitive contol scheme and careere mode are about the same
Rocky
As you might expect the game is based on the movies and delievers an acrade style boxing game with strategic elements.
In the "Movie Mode" you go through various Rocky movies to face all the well known opponents like Apollo Creed or Ivan Drago.
Wii

Punch-Out!!
Great transition from 2D to 3D by keeping the core elements of the original games and adding new content
with higher replay value. When it comes controls you have two options: Using the Wii-Mote like a NES controller
or switch to motion controls.

Hajime no Ippo: The Fighting
Easy to play, hard to master. The controls were simplified compared to the PS2 title.
Despite the missing careere mode it's one of the best boxing games.
Fight Night Champion
If you are looking for a realistic boxing game with the best roster
then this game should be your pick number one.
It also intrdocues the story mode called "Champion" which follows a young unknown boxer with events outside and inside the ring.
