Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a winner!
In my last vid I was a little underwhelmed by the performance of the 3 main AT weapons vs the Bots (Recoilless Rifle, Quasar, EATs), with the Spear being the only AT Specialist that really felt worth it.
Well, now the Commando can join its ranks as a top-tier AT option for bots, being a kind of hybrid between the Spear and the EATs. This thing has the damage to one-shot Fabricators from any direction (14:30), no vent shots required, it can comfortably 2-shot Hulks (1:30), Gunships (10:05), Tanks (8:20) and Cannon Turrets (1:05) from the front, and with engine shots it can 1-shot Gunships (11:05) - 1-shot on Hulk eyes To Be Confirmed. It performs exceptionally well vs Gunships – in laser designation mode, the missile will track your laser once it has travelled a certain distance, meaning you can guide that missile right into the Gunship engines as long as you’re not firing from close (11:15).
All that with a 4-shot capacity, and while I was at first disappointed that it wasn’t a backpack weapon like in HD1, its cooldown is almost as fast as EATs, meaning it can be brought to supplement other support weapons like the Railgun.
Can’t wait for us to unlock this permanently and try this out vs the Bugs – hopefully it doesn’t outshine EATs on that front too, e.g. requiring 2 shots for Chargers instead of 1, while having the edge vs structures, but we shall see!

Build:
With the Commando taking care of all the heavier targets, all I really need from my other weapons is stuff to take care of Troopers, Scout Striders, and Devastators. The Diligence CS has all of those covered, though Scout Striders are a little trickier requiring shots to the pelvis / leg joint – to make things easier I’m bringing Impact nades as well to hit through those ballistic shields. The Verdict is a great sidearm for Bots, with enough damage to one-shot troopers while being able to take down Berserkers with a quick magdump when needed.
With Commando free as a bonus on this planet, I have extra strikes to bring – I’m taking Orbital Precision Strike and 500kgs for hard targets and some limited AOE, Eagle 110mm Rocket Pods for Hulks / Cannon Turrets and lone Fabricators, and the Orbital Laser for base destruction / when the shit hits the fan. If I had to drop one, it’d probably be the Pods, as there’s a lot of crossover there with what the Commando can deal with.
None of my weapons truly need the bonus handling from the Peak Physique perks, so I’ve gone with an extra grenade and recoil reduction armour instead.
