The government is under mounting pressure to give students a guarantee that they will be allowed to go home for Christmas following a series of coronavirus outbreaks at universities with over 30 suspected of having at least one case.
The Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden said students would be able to see their families - as long as everyone follows new COVID-19 restrictions.
