Here's another acoustic video that was shot by Brandon and Callie Steger (of Crazy Clef Productions, y'all look them up!) back in June. I wrote "Country Kid" back in 2017 both as a snapshot of my music journey and as a tip-of-the-hat to a few of my country music heroes, and it has been a crowd favorite ever since. I can't wait until I can get in the studio with this song and the many others that I've written to finally bring them to life and release them for y'all! I appreciate your patience and your unwavering support; thanks so much for loving these songs as much as I do! (Special thanks again goes to my good friend John Griffin for making this video session possible! You rock John!)

"Country Kid" (c) 2017 by Timothy Baker
V1:
I used to sit in my car seat swaying to the beat
of the radio in the car
Riding around to that high lonesome sound
Of a fiddle and a steel guitar
I was 3 years old and too young to know
About honkytonks and broken hearts
But thanks to mom and daddy and the music they played me
I got a good head start
CH:
Yeah I'd sing right along to every song
Ol Hank and George Strait cranked out
Learning what giving, good-hearted women, and living was all about
I had humble beginnings with George Jones and Jennings
And I'm sure glad I did
It got in my blood when I was young
Thank God I was a country kid
V2:
As the years went by I spent plenty of time
Having fun and acting my age
But I learned guitar and prayed real hard
Some day I'd be singing on stage
Well country wasn't cool when I was in school
But that didn't matter to me
So I turned it up loud and played it proud
Cause that's what I was born to be
