Ingredients
1/2 cup toor dal
1/2 cup masoor dal
12 vadu mangai
3 cups water
Salt
1/4 cup dry fenugreek leaves
1 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp fenugreek
1 tsp garam masala
1/4 tsp asafoetida
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp cumin
2 red chilli
1 tsp oil
Method
Wash and cook the toor dal and masoor dal with 2 cups of water, salt, turmeric and asafoetida in a pressure cooker. Also cook the vadu mangai in the pressure cooker.
In a pan, heat oil and splutter cumin seeds. Add the red chilli. Quickly add the cooked dal along with some water. Chop the cooked vadu mangai and add it to the dal. Add all the other ingredients. Add water as needed. Let the dal boil for 2 minutes. The dal is now ready to serve.
