In this laptop DIY video, I show you the steps to upgrade the cooling fan in your Lenovo Thinkpad T480 from the single heat pipe setup that comes with integrated GPU-only laptops to the dual heat pipe model that typically comes with Thinkpad T480s that are equipped with dedicated Nvidia GPUs.
Since this job entails exposure of the CPU, I'll also show you how to do a thermal repaste on your Thinkpad's CPU. As far as the CPU thermal repaste is concerned, the concepts are generally the same for other manufacturers' laptops. However, I still highly suggest doing your own research in case special steps are needed when working on your non-Thinkpad laptop.
