Looking for an easy Halloween painting idea? Fun beginner art video on how to paint a pumpkin and a child pulling a red wagon wheelbarrow — a seasonal and nostalgic painting “PERFECT PUMPKIN PICK” with acrylic paint. Although I'm not a fan of the smell or feel of the inside of a pumpkin, I do enjoy the process of driving to a farm, picking out the perfect pumpkin, and bringing it home to carve a funny or scary face jack-o-lantern for my front steps. I also enjoy eating the yummy, toasted pumpkin seeds. I like to soak them in water for about an hour, then pat dry, sprinkle on a little olive oil and sea salt, and then toss them in the oven to bake. Crispy, salty and delicious! Pumpkin picking and carving is pretty much an annual tradition for me that sort of earmarks the start of the autumn and Halloween season. I drove around a few weeks ago and went shopping at few local farms and purchased some fresh vegetables, one cup of warm apple cider, one apple cider donut, a bag of maple popcorn, a slab of gouda cheese, a basket of crisp apples, a small box of fudge, some tea, and a couple of medium-sized pumpkins. I have not gotten around to carving them yet, but I have been watching Halloween Wars on Amazon Prime for inspiration. Speaking of inspiration, it was at Whitney’s Farm in Cheshire that I saw a few pumpkins stacked in a wheelbarrow and thought it would be a cute idea to imagine a little boy pulling his perfectly picked pumpkin in it up a country farm hill landscape. So, join me and learn how to paint this sweet autumn image of a boy pulling his gigantic pumpkin on a sunny day. The painting process for this beginner art lesson is so simple. In the first step to this acrylic art lesson you’ll learn how to paint a sky with clouds and field with dried fall grass using warm inviting autumn colors in order to create that perfect fall day for picking pumpkins. Then after learning how to draw a pumpkin, wheelbarrow and horizon, using a simple dot to dot method, you’ll apply a base coat to work off of. Then you’ll learn how to paint the huge gourd by layering colors and using a wet-on-wet technique to create richness and texture to your edible cargo. Then you’ll add highlights and shadows to your carriage to create depth and form, which will enhance the unique perspective of this image. You’ll learn to paint the child's clothes by starting with a dark base and layering colors to enhance the folds in the fabric giving it a realistic 3-D photograph. The art lesson is so easy to follow, you’ll feel like it’s a paint by numbers. Have fun and create the perfect canvas wall art fitting to decorate your home for autumn. Using only 3 brushes, and 7 colors, you’ll paint like a professional and create the best canvas painting in the world! Have a date night, paint party, paint and sip event, or virtual paint night. Paint with gouache, oil paint, pastel or watercolor, any medium will work! Paint just for fun or for art therapy. It's an easy Halloween DIY project for anyone. I hope you enjoy watching this Youtube art video and let's get painting and let's get sipping!
