This comes as fears grow that a persistent low-level conflict across the Blue Line between Israel's Defence Force and the militant group Hezbollah may be expanding the months-long Gaza war into a wider conflict in the Middle East region.
Israel earlier this week indicated it was ready for an all-out war against Hezbollah announcing that its operational plans for an attack in southern Lebanon had been approved while Hezbollah's leader warned this week that in the event of a full-blown war, nowhere in Israel would be safe.
