Francesc Miralles in conversation with Devapriya Roy

The international bestseller by Héctor García and Francesc Miralles shares the Japanese secret to a long and happy life and has helped readers around the world to find purpose, nurture friendships and throw themselves into their passions. The two co-authors have also recently written, The Book of Ichigo Ichie: The Art of Making the Most of Every Moment, the Japanese Way, which following the tenets of Zen Buddhism focuses on the need to use all our five senses to anchor yourself in the present. In conversation with writer Devapriya Roy, Francesc Miralles takes us on an inspirational journey to find our Ikigai.

Francesc Miralles is a lecturer and award-winning author of bestselling books in the area of mind-body-spirit. Born in Barcelona, he studied journalism, English literature and German philology, and has worked as a translator, editor, art therapist and musician. His novel Love in Lowercase has been translated into 28 languages. Along with Hector Garcia, he is the author of Ikigai: the Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life and Forest Bathing.

Devapriya Roy is the author of three bestselling novels, The Vague Woman's Handbook, The Weight Loss Club and Friends from College, In 2015, she published The Heat and Dust Project, co-written with Saurav Jha, the story of an epic journey across India on a very very tight budget. The book debuted at no. 1 on the Hindustan Times-AC Nielsen list. In 2018, she published Indira, a unique graphic biography of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, in collaboration with artist Priya Kuriyan. Roy is an alumnus of Presidency College, Calcutta, and Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, where she spent many years apparently in pursuit of her PhD on Bharata's Natyashastra. She is currently obsessed with translating Tagore’s Gora into English. She lives in Delhi and is a Senior Writing Fellow at Ashoka University.
