This recently discovered footage is the 7th of 8 segments captured at the Capital Theater in Passaic NJ by the in-house crew. These 8 cuts represent the only known footage of Orleans in its heyday as a 5-piece band consisting of co-founders John Hall, Larry and Lance Hoppen, Wells Kelly and later-comer Jerry Marotta.
The human rhythm machine stunt and the dance sequence are things we had all forgotten we ever did!
Still The One was topping the charts at the time of this show. Orleans was at the very top of its game as the band toured cross country, opening to Asylum label-mate Jackson Browne.
The audio mix is surprisingly good, as is the multi-camera shoot, even if it is in grainy black and white. Finding this footage was like opening a time capsule for us. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
