North Elba Park District employees in Lake Placid, New York, began rebuilding one run of the Toboggan Chute at Mirror Lake the morning of Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, after warm temperatures melted the run, forcing the slide's closure. More warm weather was on the way, but they were hoping to either reopen the following day or later in the week when seasonal weather returns.
