2025 Tesla Model 2 Redwood: Unmatched Innovation!
We anticipate that next year, Tesla will introduce a new entry-level vehicle that may go by the name of the Tesla Model 2. Codenamed "Redwood," the Model 2 will be released in the second half of 2025.
For a while now, Tesla has been working on the Model 2, an entry-level electric vehicle (EV) that would be more cheap than its current offerings. It would join the company's current four-strong model lineup. As of this writing, the only official teaser image of the vehicle has been unveiled in 2023 during the company's annual shareholder meeting.
Moreover, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, stated in January 2024 during the company's 2023 earnings report that "we will be sleeping on the [production] line" and that production of the automobile will start around the end of 2025.Musk was supposed to make a formal announcement about the Tesla 'vehicle 2' during the March 2023 Tesla Investor Day event, but instead, he showed viewers and attendees some new tech that will be on a "next-generation model" in the future. We now get a sneak peek at a car's roofline that resembles the current Model Y in its sweeping curves.A social media video has previously hinted at the new 'baby Tesla's' design with a sequence of doodles, seemingly teasing the exterior of the automobile. An photograph of its unadorned bodyshell has also surfaced, which could be a clue that the self-proclaimed "master plan" of Tesla includes a more efficient and less expensive small-car platform that draws on lessons learned from the Model 3 and Y.
Previous statements made by Musk to shareholders have indicated that "fundamentally about scaling" will describe the next phase of his plan. Production and supply of batteries are likely to be involved in this. Innovative new production methods and ideas for automobile batteries that do not contain precious metals were detailed at the 2023 Investor Day event.
An all-structural battery pack integrated into the car's framework would meet the company's goals of making vehicles easier and cheaper to produce, which would be in line with the demand for a more reasonably priced, more mass-produced model. During the 2023 Shareholder Meeting, Musk stated, "[My] guess is that we'll make in excess of five million units a year of these two products combined," So, it appears that a cheaper, shorter-range electric vehicle is definitely in the works.
