After 45 years of memories 75 & 80 finally closed in early 2012 for good calling the end of an era for many. In the early 70's untill it's closing youngsters from all over the state would bring their cars to the quarter-mile track to see what they could do. With the sound of engines roaring in the background, they would line up at the starting gate and wait for the green light to go on. Unfourantly the land where the dragstrip is located is under contract and the area will be turned into a housing development. A sad piece of Americana is now lost forever. The closing of the track means that people who want to race at a dragstrip will have to go to Mason-Dixon in Hagerstown and the Capitol Raceway in Southern Maryland.
