The Story Thus Far: Nasu Kaisei, the brother of Nasu Yukari, lost both of his legs from the knee down when he was younger and was bound to a wheelchair for some time. A man named Brave looked after Kaisei and took care of him. As Brave was missing his right arm as well, they both bonded over their shared hardships. Aside from being a mentor to Kaisei, Brave was also a skilled engineer who could create specialized prosthetic limbs. Kaisei got a new pair of bionic, metal legs which almost matched Brave's own specialized bionic right arm. Kaisei's prostheses did not stop with just legs however, he was eventually built a whole suit of armor---presumably to assist the artificial legs. Although Brave never tells Kaisei the full truth about himself, they remain very close.
Later on, Brave finds himself in a predicament. Noguchi Hazime, the Acolyte, has targeted Brave and engages him in battle. Brave's bionic right shoulder allows him to utilize up to three extra arms on his right side to help him fight, but it was still not enough. Hazime struck down Brave, mortally wounding him just in time for Kaisei to arrive.
Hazime is stunned to see that his old childhood friend sides with his enemy. As Brave lay dieing, and Kaisei holds him up, Brave gives Kaisei his last bit of advice. It does nothing to sway him however. Kaisei now has a new goal, a new target: The Acolyte.
This song is about what Brave tells Kaisei during his last moments of life.

(1) 0:20 What exactly is a bit crash (ビットクラッシュ), or bit crashing (ビットクラッシュする), I have no idea. I looked for quite a while trying to find a good explanation or answer to this, but couldn't. Regardless, the idea here is definitely that childhood has finally come to an end, as is also shown by the phrase "Out of Youth" which is placed throughout the video.
(2) 0:26 どんぐりの背比べ (donguri no seikurabe) is a phrase that literally says, "comparing the heights of acorns". It's an expression for situations that become bragging rights for trivial things, like acorns trying to compare their heights to each other. Yeah, one acorn might be a millimeter taller than another one, but that has no effect on the gigantic size of an oak tree that either could grow into. The acorn that is a millimeter smaller could end up becoming twice as big an oak tree as the other acorn---comparing their heights while they are still acorns is silly and trivial.
(3) 1:33 にゃ(nya) is strange in this instance, as I've never seen such a particle (and isn't that the sound a cat makes?!?). I figured it was a contracted way of saying には(niwa, regarding), since that would make sense for this sentence.
