In this presentation, Kevin Gallagher of Cork City Council, will discuss flood risk in Cork City and the emerging preferred options for flood relief along the lower River Lee.

The city is prone to flooding from tidal, fluvial and pluvial sources and Kevin will discuss the risk posed by all three, illustrated by recent events. He will also discuss the response of the city council, in conjunction with other agencies, to these risks and events.

Kevin is a Senior Executive Engineer in the Drainage Department of Cork City Council. He is involved in the management of the city’s drainage infrastructure, including the storm drainage system and response to flooding.
