Just west of the San Andreas Fault near Point Arena is the famous Bowling Ball Beach. At the start of the video you can see the large concretions that give this beach it’s name. Exposed along the rapidly eroding cliff face are deep water turbidites of the ~30 million year old Galloway Formation. The resistant units are sandstone and the less resistant units are siltstone. The deposits were originally laid flat but were tilted vertically between 23.0 and 5.33 million years ago.
