Grand Tarantella, by Louis Moreau Gottschalk, was originally scored for piano and orchestra, eventually reconstructed by Hershey Kay for the New York City Ballet. This transcription for piano and theatre organ is performed as a duet with myself (playing both the organ and piano parts). The orchestra score was recorded on the Robert Morton Theatre Organ, housed at Kansas City's beautiful Music Hall a few months prior to the concert, while the piano score was performed live, for the enthusiastic, Kansas City Theatre Pipe Organ (KCTPO) audience on a concert, September 13, 2009. The audience wasn't expecting the organ to rise from the orchestra pit un-manned, adding to the uniqueness of the performance.
Gottschalk was a brilliant, American pianist and composer. To learn more, visit [ Ссылка ] or [ Ссылка ]
