Rectal Bleeding can be painless bleeding or a painful condition, associated with a pain in the rectal area. So we have to see how this bleeding is coming. If it is a painless bleeding and large quantities of blood is coming for anal canal you might think it is bleeding die to ulcer or tumor in the rectal area, next is the hemorrhoids, also can have a lot of bleeding. Are you pass symptom, you will have drops and drops of blood coming out. So multiple ulceration on single ulceration can also manifest as bleeding per rectum. In fissures the bleeding is associated with severe pain and the blood is merged with motion itself, that means there is blood is sitting with motion itself. As the hard motion rubs on the anal canal, the ulcers rub on the motion itself. These patients are severely anemic and they require intervention. First we do local examination and see if we have anal fissure present. If we have anal fissures present then we not only do procotoscopy, because it can be very painful. So we can do sigmoidoscopy in these patients. Then if there is painless bleeding, we can do digital rectal examination and see if there is any tumor or hemorrhoids present or we can do rectoscopy to see if there are any hemorrhoids present.
