A quick drive through the downtown core of Edmundston, New Brunswick, ending up on highway 2 (Trans Canada Highway).
Edmundston is a city of around 20,000 located in the top northwest corner of the province, near the border with Quebec. The city lies directly across the St. John River from Madawaska, Maine in the United States.
Established in 1852, Edmundston is a generally French speaking community that evolves heavily around the forestry industry (pulp and paper).
Dominant landmarks in the video include the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, the University of Moncton campus and the stacks of the pulp and paper plant. The pulp slurry is piped across the St. John River via the bridge seen at the start of the video and processed on the U.S. side in Madawaska.
