Dr Richard Thackray is a Lecturer in Steelmaking at the University of Sheffield. In this presentation, he will give a brief overview of recent, current and future steel research in Sheffield, including examples of new steels for automotive applications, advances in thermomechanical processing, improving the quality of continuously cast steel products, and plans for sustainable steel production.
