The US Air Force Is Testing A New Secret Hypersonic -Jet.
There was a time when even supersonic jets- aircraft that could travel faster than the speed of sound -were the bleeding edge of aviation technology. But these days, developers are setting their sights even higher, or should we say faster, with multiple hypersonic aircraft projects in production. To give some perspective, anything traveling faster than Mach 1 speed is considered supersonic. But to qualify as a hypersonic aircraft, one would need to travel at speeds of at least Mach 5.
