This talk centers on Gudgel's experiences in Holocaust education and teaching Literature of the Holocaust in Lincoln, Nebraska, as well as the work he does with his global nonprofit in Rwanda. Through anecdotes and personal examples, explains why the world is in good hands with this up-and-coming generation, so long as we do the right things to help prepare them.
Born in Valentine, Nebraska, 125 miles from the nearest Walmart, Gudgel grew up wanting to be a teacher. His first full-length publication, a book of poetry titled no/sixteenths, is largely an early reflection upon prejudice, inequality and the idea that the world could be better than it is.
A fellow of both the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington D.C. and the Imperial War Museum in London, England, Gudgel is the author of more than a dozen articles and essays about the Holocaust, genocide, antisemitism and education.
