K40 CO2 Laser Smoothieware Upgrade MKS Sbase 1.3 with Ribbon Cable/optical endstop Delete
I decided to delete the optical endstops and ribbon cable because I plan on making a much larger frame eventually, instead of adapting to the ribbon cable because it will be too short in the future.

BE CAREFUL! KNOW WHAT YOU"RE DOING. THESE THINGS CAN KILL YOU, EVEN UNPLUGGED.
I am not responsible if you hurt yourself or destroy your board.
these are the basic steps I took to make this work:
remove optical endstops/ribbon cable, cut x stepper connector off motor and lengthen cable.
make a wire harness with 2 microswitches and 2 connectors of the same length as X stepper cable, hotglue and ziptie switches close to previous locations, modify for maximum travel to increase usable space.
connect to 24V and GND on MKS to laser PSU
connect negative pin from screw terminal P2.5 connector(hot bed) on MKS to the L terminal on laser PSU
flashed latest CNC firmware, modified config file (heres mine, check the network setup area for your situation) [ Ссылка ]
copied 'webif' package to SD card to enable website control of smoothieware

If you don't delete the ribbon cable and optical endstops you need a 3-5v converter. seemed simpler to remove it altogether (especially because it'll grow beyond ribbon cable length in future)
