Predominant non-tariff barriers, inadequate infrastructure connectivity and insecurity are among the hard-hitting challenges, as efforts towards regional integration continue to gather speed.
This was said during the presentation of a draft strategy and policy, that will see kenya efficiently maximize opportuniities that exist in the east african community region. It is believed that the regional integration strategy will among other benefits facilitate market access, and expansion of investment opportunities for the private sector. The ministry of east african affairs affirms that the policy provides framework and laws that enhance coherent coordination and negotiation of trade and investment opportunities in the region, in kenya's interest.
