The Transparency in Coverage Final Rules began taking effect on July 1, 2022. The Rules were passed back in October 2020, requiring insurance companies and employer health plans to post in-network and out-of-network rates they negotiate with providers. They also require online price transparency tools on cost-sharing information. We explain the Rule and timeline for implementation.
