The airlines industry is warning that losses arising from the coronavirus outbreak could pass the hundred billion dollar mark.
COVID-19 claimed its first victim in the airlines sector earlier this week, with the collapse of the UK regional flier Flybe. The administration at Flybe, Europe's biggest independent airline, puts at risk over two thousand jobs at some of the UK's least served
airports.
Now the industry body IATA says the overall global slowdown in cancellations and lost business, as customers decide to stay at home and not travel, could be as much as $113bn.
CGTN is joined by John Grant, director of JG Aviation Consultants, for his views on what could be in store for some of the worlds biggest carriers.
