The Blizzard of ’78 was a catastrophic, historic snowstorm to hit New England on February 6-7th, 1978. The slow moving storm brought hurricane-force winds, extreme high tides and record snowfall to the region. For the 40th anniversary of the storm, Chief Meteorologist Eric Fisher leads the WBZ Weather Team in a look back at the devastation left in its wake and examines the likelihood of a storm like ’78 ever happening again.
