In June of 2012, the City of Norfolk, Virginia hosted a meeting with Planners from the Netherlands to discuss how the country overcame being over 25% below sea level. Recent studies find Norfolk's level of sea rise amongst the greatest on the East Coast. Norfolk leadership is exploring long term ways to preserve her current boundaries with her rivers and the Chesapeake Bay. More info:
