"Dark Aspects" is a series is where I analyze the family-friendly games of Nintendo’s legacy that tend to portray more mature themes than one would expect. "Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door" is one of greatest examples of this in general- and certainly a contender for darkest Mario game in existence. Drug undertones? Crime rings & the mob? Sexually suggestive dialogue and themes? It’s all there + more, so enjoy as I run through every one of them the game has to offer.
