Welcome to the sixth installment of Analyzing Melody. This is a series that focuses on, predominantly, the element of Melody in music with the occasional commentary on harmony, counterpoint, and form. It will look at a variety of musics but mostly various periods of the Common Practice Period (Baroque, Classical, Romantic), early 20th century musics, and retro VGM (NES - PS1).
So if you've ever wondered how to write or analyze melodies, check this series out! It takes you through all of the little steps so that you can better understand not only the individual melody, but melodic composition as a whole.
In this installment we take on the World Map Theme from Kingdoms of the Dump which was composed by William Kage!
