It seems people are finally catching on to the extraordinary cordyceps mushroom and all it has to offer.
The compounds found in this mushroom have the potential to boost energy and vitality, improve athletic performance, support respiratory health, and strengthen the immune system. But this powerful medicinal mushroom can be tough to get your hands on, and the quality is often lacking in products you can find.
Growing this mushroom is also notoriously difficult, and usually requires a lot of expensive equipment that isn’t accessible to most people. In this video, I walk you through what is perhaps the easiest way to grow these elusive mushrooms at home. This process can be done with under $100 worth of supplies, and after this upfront investment, it can be repeated as many times as you want for next to nothing.
The key is that we’re using Uncle Ben’s Ready rice as the substrate, which comes in sealed packages that are pre-sterilized. This means we can just inoculate these bags with liquid culture without pressure sterilizing them, as we’d have to with other substrates.
Since this method is aimed at people who don’t have a pressure cooker, you’ll need to buy one syringe of liquid culture per bag you want to grow. If you do have one though, you can save some money by just buying one liquid culture syringe and expanding it into however much you need (the video shows me using an expanded jar of LC - if you’re not doing this, just use a new LC syringe for each bag).
I hope this video helps make this amazing mushroom accessible to more people, happy growing!
