Starting this month, Maersk’s Oceanic freight is ditching the Panama Canal due to low water levels caused by a severe drought.
Instead, they're taking the "land bridge" route, using the Ports of Balboa and Manzanillo in Panama and rail transport to keep the cargo moving. This change impacts two transits per week & it's all because of climate challenges and water shortages at the canal.
