Finally, after years of using a private skin, i can finally leave it aside for a completely new model.
With Juniez pack out there, almost all Half-Life / Source Engine weapon models have been redone in amazing quality, however, one still remained forgotten: The PortalGun (Probably due to the puzzle-action nature of the game, there hasn't been enough interest)
Using parts of some models (with permission) and improving the existing assets, some friends and i decided to take matters into our own hands to create the perfect PortalGun remaster it always deserved.
Notable features used during the development of it:
-It uses the Replica and Worldmodel as reference, as opposed to the ViewModel (since it differs a lot)
-It has been re-thought using the Portal trailers and demonstrations as reference.
-The textures have been made to fit both Portal 1 and 2 Timeline-wise, without differing between generations (your PortalGun wont have a codebar on P1, but will still be somewhat clean, and is rugged enough for Portal 2, without looking completely abandoned)
-(Portal 1 Only) The particles, sounds and effects have been directly ported from the Portal 2 engine to the first one. With even less differences between generation jumps.
-It has been reanimated and given hands to fit more the 2007/pre-release model. It uses hands from the Chell model, so they won't differ of the person you're playing as.
