STORYLINE:
Germany and the Netherlands will provide training and equipment to Ukrainian soldiers to help with demining efforts, the countries' defense ministers said.
The ministers spoke on the sidelines of a meeting with U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin at Ramstein Air Base in Germany.
The training will be carried out in Germany.
The two countries previously joined forces to send howitzers to Ukraine.
Kajsa Ollongren, Defense Minister of the Netherlands, said the support was "a direct response to a Ukrainian request."
German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht said support would also extend to a "winter package", which would include "material for power generation, tents, but also winter equipment."
