Pan-j aka Jihed Khmiri is a Tunisian musician and producer. Starting off as a passionate percussionist at a very young age to sharing the musical scene with several Tunisian artists and groups, Pan-j now explores the overlapping features of electronic music. His previous experience as an artistic director at Wax Bar enabled his immersion in the Tunisian electronic scene and his interaction with several Tunisian Dj’s. This outing into electronic music reflects his heterogeneous musical identity. While working on his upcoming individual EP “Questions” , Jihed departed on a side project as a Dj under the name of “Pan-j” by merging creative impulses and visions into a different musical arena. Away from the traditionally stagnant music , Pan-J craves an unconventional, innovative, experimental pattern in whatever music he chooses to do , through juxtaposing relatively opposing elements while preserving the groovy aspect. His released tracks “Press Start” , “Yellow Fever” and “Catch Me” range from electro house to minimal techno though it seems implausible to assign one or two genres to his music, a music that cannot be confined nor narrowed. Rhythm and groove are the primary ingredients that unite all of his works.
