The .303 British is a large caliber rifle cartridge that was designed for military use in the late 1800s. Later on the cartridge became a staple for militaries, and hunters within the commonwealth. I actually still hunt on occasion with a chopped up SMLE rifle chambered in .303 British. The history behind the cartridge is interesting, and I thought I would share the simplified history of the .303 Brit.
