This is All Trimmed Civil using Trimble Universal Total Station with a sonic tracer.
SITECH Solutions’ Brendon Vella recently installed the tracer onto All Trimmed’s Cat 140M onsite at Marsden Park Housing Development, a Western Earthmoving site.
The Cat140M has been fitted with Trimble 3D GCS900 complete with UTS and sonic tracer to create better accuracy as it completes the final trimming of a road within the subdivision.
In utilising the Trimble UTS with the sonic tracer the right hand side of the blade is following the design on the screen, all driven off the target on the top of the system.
Meanwhile the left hand side of the blade uses the sonic tracer to follow the curve of the gutter, enabling the machine to cut to the design once the gutter has been constructed.
