On May 1st US President Donald Trump affirmed he had seen evidence that made him confident that Coronavirus originated in the Wuhan Institute of Virology. He also stated that the World Health Organisation should be ashamed of themselves 'because they are like the public relations agency for China.'
When asked on these comments on May 4th the World Health Organization said that the evidence so far shows Coronavirus is of 'natural origin' and that the US government has not shared any evidence relating to the origins of the virus.
WHO's Dr Micheal Ryan said at the daily press briefing : “We have not received any data specific evidence from the US Government relating to the purported origins of the virus.”
